I am passionate about helping people with anxiety to access joy, peace, and inspiration. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to introduce you to stress-reduction practices that have been personally and professionally transformative. I employ effective techniques using mindfulness practices, communication skills, and process-oriented goals in a pragmatic way to help you become relaxed, focused, and productive.

Coaching Approach

My humanistic approach posits that it is possible for you to access inner peace regardless of the challenges you have encountered. I use an approach that is presence-oriented, which means supporting you to become centered and access the wisdom already within you. The method I practice is solution-focused, so we actively target outcomes such as being emotionally grounded and mentally clear.

My style is person-centered and designed to support your personalized goals. I also offer methods to improve communication skills that can help deepen your self-rapport and enhance interpersonal relationships. Through our collaboration, my intention is to co-create solutions that generate lasting changes.

When nothing seems to help, I go look at a stonecutter hammering away at his rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the hundred-and-first blow it will split in two, and I know it was not the last blow that did it, but all that had gone before. – Jacob Riis

As an anxiety specialist, I coach clients to help them overcome anxiety by online videoconferencing. I have been providing support for people with anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, and professional stress since 2006. Before becoming a life coach, I completed graduate training at Stony Brook University in order to provide individual counseling as a licensed therapist using the evidence based practices of mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) both in person and through telehealth. I found both in person and online formats to be equally effective for helping individuals address problems and achieve goals, and research verifies my personal experience. My preference for anxiety coaching stems from personal and professional experiences that overcoming anxiety can be most efficiently achieved without fixating on the past or adopting stigmatizing labels; instead, I prefer to mentor and teach individuals to embrace a presence-oriented approach that emphasizes practices to feel grounded in the here and now.

My experience also includes having worked in higher education. I provided treatment to college students with anxiety, panic attacks, and social anxiety, at the college counseling centers of Manhattan College and the College at Old Westbury. In addition, I taught college courses in meditation as well as interpersonal communication and public speaking. I enjoy spending my free time with my wife and daughter, practicing qigong (e.g. mindful stretching), and playing the ukulele.
